Mr Rod Houston

TSG is a specialist consulting firm who use discrete event modelling, advanced analytics and optimisation techniques in the mining industry. TSG work in collaboration with their clients to ensure they have total confidence in the process and their business decisions. Rod will introduce TSG, and the impact they have on operations through a case study.

Mr Wayne O'Rourke

AECOM Analytics & Simulation provide techniques to support solutions for business problems.  We operate across multiple industries and provide clients with tools to support decision making.  Whilst simulation is often seen only as a quantitative tool, Wayne will discuss the often forgot benefits of simulation as a medium for sharing understanding and reaching collaborative decisions.

Mr Shawn Parr

The integration of Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) simulations in the delivery of complex warfare training is now routine. In this session Shawn will provide an insight into modern large scale military training; the essential role that technical standards play in achieving LVC integration; and the benefits delivered.

Ms Nola Pearce

The use of trauma simulation within emergency scenarios and the experience of providing these services as a contractor to the Australian Military. Including the process of developing specialised training products such as tourniquet, thoracentesis and haemostatic clotting trainers which we design and create in-house. Our products & services are quite unique and can be tailored to suit many needs across many industries.

Mr Martin Pincock

DI-Guy is the de facto vis sim industry standard for adding high fidelity human characters to any virtual environment. Martin will review some interesting use cases, and demonstrate just how easy it is to create complex synthetic environment scenarios and focused training content.

Professor Cobie J Rudd

Drawing out self-talk using simulation is an emerging technique to enhance situational awareness. Cobie will take participants through ways this has been achieved in simulation challenges, simulation-based learning resources and research. Visual examples of her work in this area will provide a platform for interactive discussion around different contexts.
