The Centre for Intelligent Systems Research (CISR) at Deakin University is home to more than 50 researchers.  CISR investigates and develops state-of-the-art algorithms and methodologies that provide practical solutions to real world problems that are encountered by systems operating with uncertainty, variability and change.

Areas of specialisation include System Characterisation, ¬¬¬Rapid Model Generation, Probabilistic 3D Simulation, Decision Support and Intelligent Control.  CISR also has a strong background in robotics, haptics, automation, electronic design and interfacing, as well as information extraction from digital sources such as biometrics, video and medical scanning devices.  This expertise allows a full-circle approach from capturing and processing real data, to its analysis and the identification of system inefficiencies.

Our major industry and government research partners include Boeing, ABB, GM, Ford, AutoCRC, CAST CRC, Vestas, BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA), Australian Department of Defence, Department of Transport, Victorian Police, DSTO, and DOTARS.
